Bydand is a Viking/Scott word
in origin and means: steadfast,
loyal, enduring and courage. To
me this well describes a Newf.
They are very loyal to their
humans and whenever possible
should only have one family. To
look at all the accounts of Newfs
who have rescued countless
numbers of people from
shipwrecks and other
situations, you know they are
also courageous.

We feed Purina Pro Plan formula. It
has proven itself to be a wonderful
food for our Newfs. I do recommend
our dogs be kept on this, however, all
dogs are individuals and not all dogs
do well on the same food, so I provide
information on food, so if you need to
select a different brand or formula, that
you will be able to choose a quality
food for your Newf.

| I do owner handler some of our dogs in the conformation ring. However, since I am busy with the dogs and life in general, for me, I find using a Professional Dog Handler works quite well. If you would like assistance in finding a handler, please let me know. |

| These pictures answer the question: Are Newfs always couch potato's? Molly lives in CO and loves to do whatever her family does. Here she is "skiing". Molly has been well conditioned with hiking and different activities, she isn't a couch potato who is going to be prone to injury doing this. Molly is a Sugar & Noah daughter, she is about 4 years old in the pictures...she is a sibling to Dexter in the photo bellow. |
