Bydand's Goddess Of Love And Beauty
Tesh was born on Halloween. Oct 31st, 2009. Tesh is out
of our only Shrek litter. She was the pup my kids told me
NOT to keep. But she was so special to me and still is. Lily
had to have a c-sec to get some of her pups out in that
litter. Tesh had been born naturally and was in a basket
with her siblings while Lily had the c-sec. She was crying
so hard, so I picked her up to hold and cuddle her. She
settled right down and went to sleep, so I put her down to
put her back in the basket with her siblings. Well, that
wasn't what she wanted, she started crying again, so I
would pick her up and hold her, she would stop crying, so I
would set her down, then she would cry again...it only took
about 3 times for me to realise I was going to hold her till
she could have her mom. Well right there and then my girls
said, don't keep that one. But from that day on, she
claimed me, I was hers. She would climb in my lap to
snuggle, she would sit and snuggle while her siblings
would be eating their food, she would come running when
she would see me, always the first and the last pup to sit
with me. This isn't why I kept her, I kept her because she
was a beautiful pup AND I loved her need for me. Well,
maybe that wasn't such a good idea...ha ha. She does
need me, no doubt about that, she is under foot constantly,
she loves me so much, she doesn't ever want to be very
far, as I type, she is nudging my elbow for attention. She is
a Newf, a constant companion. I love her dearly. She is
maturing in to a gorgeous girl, a very nice mix of both her
parents. At 18 months, she is 146 pounds, she is a very big
girl.
Tesh's name is really Quetesh (Ka-tesh). Quetesh was a
Canaanite goddess and a Goa'uld on Star Gate SG1 (TV
show). As you might have noticed from some of our other
dogs, we enjoy Sci-Fi programs. One of our favorites is
Star Gate SG1. There is a character named Vala Mal Doran
on the show, her body was host to the Goa'uld named
Quetesh. We like Vala's character so much we wanted to
use the Quetesh name for our pup. Yeah, we are kinda
odd. :))

OFA: Patella's, heart and cystinuria all normal.
Hips and elbows xrayed at 18 months, all looks normal, will
re-xray for submission after 24 months of age for OFA
certification.
