1-20-12 I have decided to create an "update" page to link from the photo page.
Since so many of you didn't get my last update via email, I was thinking this is
a better way to ensure you get them. You can click on the update link when
you see I have changed the date and get the latest info on the pups from the
web.
Pups are doing great. They are growing and progressing as they should.
They are starting to be more active now, they are starting to play with each
other. They are playing with their toys and blankets now. The pictures I loaded
up are a bit dark, one of my light bulbs in the room just went out. Pups are
doing great eating semi-solid food. I still blend at least one meal a day for them,
but they are eating dry food that I soften with water and they are starting to
snack and crunch on dry too.
Some have asked what the pink walls are. We have really cold winters here, as
most of you know, so to ensure the whelping box area stays extra warm, I use
the pink styrofoam boards to raise up the floor, then put an electric blanket
between the pink board and the whelping box floor, this gives them a heated
floor. I use the pink board also on the walls to help hold in some of the heat.
So in some pictures, you will see sratched up walls. The pups love to scratch
at the pink stuff, I don't know why, but almost with every litter I have to replace
the walls because they are so rough on it....so that is what the pink walls are
that you see.
As for business now: Just a reminder, puppy balances, airfare if your pup is
flying, the AKC and if you desire a microchip, these balances are due to arrive
here no later than Jan 28th if you plan to pay with a check. If you wish to
extend this deadline, then you have the option to wire transfer directly to my
account, you can send a postal money order up til the 4th of Feb. Some have
asked what their balance is. If you have a 300.00 down payment on your pup,
then the balance on the puppy is 1700.00, airfare is 395.00 (it went up a bit), the
AKC registration fee is 20.00, and if you want a microchip, that is 45.00. So if
you have sent more than the 300.00 down payment, you will have to calculate
what your balance is, or if you don't know, email me.
Some have been asking when they will go home. This will depend on weather.
At the earliest, it would be Feb 11th, but depending on weather, I am shooting
for around Valentines day. For pups flying, we need tempatures to be at least
10 degrees outside for the airline to accept live animals for travel. I will work for
the best possible flights for the pups, however Delta airlines is my only choice
of carrier, since they are the only ones from this area to accept animals without
people traveling with them.
I have finally decided on a "theme" for the litter. I am hoping for warmer
weather, and fondly remember our summer vacation in FL on the beach. So I
want all of you to come up with a name that includes your favorite US beach, I
would like the word beach included if possible. The name must include my
kennel name, Bydand's, for the 20.00 registration fee, it can not exceed 36
spaces, if you need more room, you can go up to 50 spaces for an extra $10 to
AKC. Here are some examples of beach names....
Bydand's Miami Beach
Bydand's Myrtle Beach
Bydand's Waikiki Beach
If you google a list of US beaches, it will help you with some names. Have fun
with selecting a name, be creative. If you aren't sure, run your name idea's past
me. Keep in mind, this is the registered name you are working on, you can
"call" your dog whatever you like, and the call name doesn't have to have
anything to do with the actual registered name.
I sent out an email with food info previously, if you did not get it, please let me
know.

Hi Everyone,
I am taking more pictures this afternoon to load up on the web page, but hope you
enjoyed the ones I loaded this weekend from last weeks photo session. Check the front
page of the web site for a new update for when the next pictures are loaded. The
pictures I take today, will be the last pictures you get of the litter, you will have to then
wait patiently for your pup to be in your arms.
Pups are doing wonderful!!! Everyone is growing well and developing as they should.
I need some info from each of you now. I am going to be doing the puppy selections
this week, so I need from each of you a brief email reminding me about your hopes,
dreams and desires. Your household dynamics, other pets...etc. This helps me make
the right choice of which puppy is best suited to your homes and life styles.
I also need a reminder for those that are flying as to what airport I am flying your puppy
in to. I will be working on flight arrangements this week also. So I need that as soon as
you can. Also if you could each send me your registered name again, I didn't write them
down, so I had better this time. Please be ready on the day I select for the pups to fly. I
will work with what is the best schedule for you and the pup, however some cities are
very limited as to times available for arrival. But bottom line, you need to be ready for
the pup when it is the day and time I say.
For those who have not paid your puppy balance yet, since you missed the deadline for
a personal check and postal money orders, I will need you to send it via a wire transfer
from your bank to mine now. Please refer to the previous update (scroll down) if you
are unsure what to send or contact me directly for your total.
